Timesheet Software

CSS were tasked with Designing and Developing a Timesheet system for a large PLC company with weekly Timesheet information coming from an electronic system (Timeware) and the relevant payments being passed on to Snowdrop Payroll.

The new Timesheet system was designed to be completely flexible compared to the old system which was 30 years old and creaking at the seams, we introduced a raft of new features such as a Calendar system and automatic placement of each Timesheet into a yearly archive which allows any historical Timesheets to be called up and viewed or re-printed.

The Timesheet system keeps basic details of each Employee along with their default Department, Shift Pattern, Skill Set and Contracted Hours to name a few, the Shift Patterns are fully customisable and can be variations on Day Shift, Night Shift, Weekend Workers, Part Time Workers and Maintenance Staff.

There are approximately 20 Tables that make up the entire system, the Tables are automatically created when the Software is installed.

The key to the Timesheet system are the various payment types, each type is customisable to some degree, the Payment types are.

A - Allowances & Adjustments.

B - Basic Pay. (Hours Worked x Rate)

E - Average Earnings Payment.

F - First Aider Payment.

H - Holiday Payment (Annual, Statutory or Years in Service Days)

N - Self Financing Bonus Payment.

O - Overtime Payments.

P - Piecework Payments.

S - Shiftwork Payments.

X - Bonus Payments. (ie. Xmas Bonus)
